The reality of this world is that there is evil and if our (the nations) children are not trained in the way they should go, they can and will quickly and very early become part of the evil. I was deeply saddened to hear of the 7 year of girl who was prostitued out by her 15 year old sister. (7 years old – that’s same as my youngest.) That poor little body and the soul and heart that are forever scarred. Only the Lord can put her back together and I hope and pray that she will be placed with a Christian family that will guide her in the right way. But then my thoughts turn to the older sister. She is just 15. How in the world did she come up with this idea? That this would be ok? What has happened or is happening in her young life that brought her to this place? She needs the Lord too. Her heart and soul are damaged as well. And the men….Just disgusting… I am not even sure I can let my thoughts go there.

And while all of this seems so far away from my bubble. E comes home and tells me that there were girls smoking in the bathroom at school yesterday. WHAT!!!! 10/11 year old girls smoking in the bathroom? I am so proud of E. She has such confidence in herself and in what she believes and in who she belongs to (God that is). While I don’t think she would have been tempted if they had asked, she believes that they didn’t ask her because they already knew her answer. And yet she is still compasionate toward those who were talked into particpating by the ringleader and yet understands that they made the choice to participate. And she was disgusted by the ringleaders actions of stealing from her parents and then trying to get the other girls to participate. Then my thoughts turn to the training or lack there of that these girls got or better yet didn’t get! PARENTS!!! Get your act together! Set the right example for your children! Train them in the Love of the Lord!

My heart is sad for our children! For those that are trained…for what they have to face. And for those that are not trained…for what they have to endure, for where their hearts are and for where their hearts will be. May the Lord have mercy on us all.

Psalm 9:19-20 http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/11/11/psalm-919-20/ http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/11/11/psalm-919-20/#comments Wed, 11 Nov 2009 14:56:09 +0000 Administrator http://saenk.com/blog3/?p=78 I thought this is fitting for the times we live in.

“Arise, O Lord,
Do not let man prevail;
Let the nations be judged in Your sight,
Put them in fear, O Lord,
That the nations my know themselves to be but men.”
Psalm 9: 19-20

converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
The satutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
The judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.”
Psalms 19:7-11

Strong Godly Leaders http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/08/10/strong-godly-leaders/ http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/08/10/strong-godly-leaders/#comments Mon, 10 Aug 2009 15:53:09 +0000 Administrator http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/08/10/strong-godly-leaders/ As I have read through the Book of Judges, I have become even more convicted that without strong Godly leaders we will fall.  We, as a family, will fall.  We, the church, will fall.  We, the USA, will fall.  We need Godly women leaders, but even more so, we need Godly men Leaders.   Everytime the Isrealites came to a time that they did not have a strong Godly leader they fell away from God. They would come back to God when God would raise up a Godly leader for them. I find us in this same place today. Families are struggling to stay together.  Congregations are moving away from the path of truth. And our great nation is turning away from God.  We desparately need Godly leaders. So Christian wives encourage your husbands. Pray for our leaders. And be diligent in how you raise your children, especially your sons!

God Bless you! – Amy

Things I learned reading through the Bible – #1 http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/04/20/things-i-learned-reading-through-the-bible-1/ http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/04/20/things-i-learned-reading-through-the-bible-1/#comments Mon, 20 Apr 2009 21:04:24 +0000 Administrator http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/04/20/things-i-learned-reading-through-the-bible-1/ Well, I said I was going to start posting again, and then I got sidetracked again. So I am sorry, but here I am working to be back on track.  I was going to go through my notes in order, but I have changed my mind and decided to skip around a bit.

So today I am going to share with you what I learned about clean and unclean food in the Old Testament.  I learned that there were clean and unclean insects. Don’t believe me, look it up. (Because I don’t know that I would have believed you either without looking it up.) Lev. 11:20-23  I thought ALL insects were unclean!! but apparently not. So there you go… an interesting and possibly gross Bible fact.

Not forgotten! http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/04/03/not-forgotten/ http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/04/03/not-forgotten/#comments Fri, 03 Apr 2009 21:43:54 +0000 Administrator http://saenk.com/blog3/2009/04/03/not-forgotten/ I know you think that I have probably forgotten about this blog, but I haven’t. I kinda came to a point where I didn’t have anything to say.  So I decided to take a break. In January, I got a Chronological Study Bible and I have been reading it almost daily since. I plan to start sharing with you various thoughts or things I learned as I have been reading. So stay tuned. More to come!

It is a quarterly publication and the next issue is due out at the begining of January.  We have two goals: to teach women who do not know about Christ and to encourage those who do.  If you are not receiving this publication, and would like to or if you would like to share this publication with someone you know, please email us at subscriptions@fwnl.com .  You can recieve this FWN by email or snail mail.  Also if you have an article you would like to share with us, you can submit it to submissions@fwnl.com .  If you are interested in learning about how all the women in your congregation can recieve FWN or if you have a ministery that would benefit from FWN, you can email me personally at amy@fwnl.com .

Thank you and Have a blessed day!

I am truely blessed!! http://saenk.com/blog3/2008/12/17/i-am-truely-blessed/ http://saenk.com/blog3/2008/12/17/i-am-truely-blessed/#comments Wed, 17 Dec 2008 14:55:49 +0000 Administrator http://saenk.com/blog3/2008/12/17/i-am-truely-blessed/ Here lately a quite a few things have caused me to sit back and count my blessings. Scott and I, the other day, were discussing how much traveling we have done this year…a trip to Tennesse this summer, His mission trip to Ghana, our trip to Australia, and our family trip to Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri.  And to think that at the beginning of this year, Scott lost his job. But the Lord provided for both our needs but our wants as well! Our cup has run over!

Then when I hear friends talking about thier struggles…family illness, cancer or surgery or women saddened by a miscarriage.  I am struck at how blessed we are to be healthy, aside from the common cold, which in the big scheme of things is not so bad. And then to think that if I was struggling (such as when Natalie was in the hospital earlier this year), I would be completely surrounded by friends, and family and church family that would be here to support us and love us. Yes, I am truely blessed!

And to top it all off. I serve a risen saviour, who died for me…who is creating the ultimate home for me…who cleanses me of my sins.  Yes I am truely, truely blessed. How about you?!?

Habit of the Month – December – time with God http://saenk.com/blog3/2008/12/02/habit-of-the-month-december-time-with-god/ http://saenk.com/blog3/2008/12/02/habit-of-the-month-december-time-with-god/#comments Tue, 02 Dec 2008 02:43:10 +0000 Administrator http://saenk.com/blog3/2008/12/02/habit-of-the-month-december-time-with-god/ This season is so busy and stressful. I challenge you and myself to spend a little bit of time with God everyday. Spend time reading His Word. Spend time Praying. Spend time singing praise to Him. Choose one or do all three. I think just taking a little bit of time – even 5 minutes – will reduce our stress and keep our focused on Him instead of all the materialism that comes with this season. I hope that you have more peace because you spent time with Him.

Blessings to you and yours. – Amy
